Following FOIL’s initiative last week, to approach the Lord Chief Justice seeking practical measures to mitigate the effects of the current crisis, a new Practice Direction has now been published. FOIL’s letter, supported by APIL, MASS and SCIL (the Society of Clinical Negligence Lawyers), requested a temporary change to CPR r.3.8(4) allowing agreed extensions of time of up to 56 days, in place of 28 days.
