ince – An update on the decarbonisation of shipping: COP27 and looking ahead to MEPC 79

With COP 27 recently concluded, and the International Maritime Organisation's (IMO) Intersessional Working Group on Reduction of GHG Emissions from Ships (ISWG-GHG 13) currently setting the scene for the upcoming Marine Environment Protection Committee’s 79th meeting (MEPC 79), scheduled between 12 and 16 December 2022 at the IMO, it is timely to consider the latest updates on the shipping sector's decarbonisation journey and what is on the horizon.
